I'm so excited today to have our guest Trisha from Stampin' & Craftin.  She has an awesome blog that you should go check out. So here she is take it away Trisha!
Hi!  I'm Trisha from Stampin' & Craftin'.  I am very excited to be here at I'm a Mom (not a professional) doing my first ever Blog Swap.  Yeah!! 

A little about me. . . I'm a mother to 3 little girlies 5 and under, a full-time working mother, and an avid crafter. My love of crafting started with scrapbooking, grew to include stamping, and most recently includes sewing. I LOVE spending time "creating" and I hope you do too! Candyland Birthday Party
Today I want to share with you the Edible Crayons my girls and I made in honor Teacher Appreciation Week. 

There are several templates out there on how to make edible crayons, but the one I found that I like best is from Parties by Hardie. 
To make these particular crayons you need Candy Melts, Rold Gold Honey Wheat Braided Twists, Colored Paper, Pretzel Crayon Wrapper Template, and Tape.
STEP 1:  Prepare the candy melts according to the package directions.

STEP 2:  Lay out waxed paper. Dip one half of each pretzel into the melted candy. Shake off the excess
and lay gently on the wax paper to dry.

STEP 3:  After they have dried, dip the other half into the melted candy. Shake off the excess and lay gently on the waxed paper to dry.

STEP 4:  While pretzels are drying, print the pretzel crayon wrapper templates onto colored paper. Cut out the wrappers.  You can get the template for the crayon wrappers here.

STEP 5:  Take the pretzels and cover with the wrapper. You can use double sided tape or regular tape to
keep it closed.  I wouldn't  recommend glue since these will be eaten.

The final step is to package them however you would like.  I put them in a cello bag with a little note that read, "Thanks for making C-G-B a bright place for our children!"

You could also package them in a crayon box. You can find a great crayon box template here.

I work in a school district, so I made some extra crayons to place in the teacher's lounges.  I placed them in  a clear container with a little note.


These would also make great gifts at year end for your teachers.  Or, you could  pair them with Jaime's Crayon Cake and use them for favors at a birthday party.  Whatever you choose to do, I know you'll have fun making these.
